The Matty Report

I don't believe there is anything quite like Hockey or Summer nights. If you mix them together, you have the Northern Rhode Island Amateur Hockey League. Last night, the league did not disappoint. 

Some of the highlights, "who is number 7 on Final Touch?" Jimmy Meegan that's WHO! Jimmy not only got a hat trick, he scored short handed, which was the eventual game winner and added an assist. Final Touch puts themselves into first place with this 5-2 win and are 2 points ahead. Manny's slips with their recent losses. Derek Signoriello is on the shelf, is this the reason they are slipping? Stay tuned. BTW I have lost my bid for the Lady Bing. And yes if I had 3 penalties I would be out and out the next game. I know the rules people. 

More highlights come from MSCCC taking on Manville Pizza Palace. MSCCC has an up and down season. Last night they went into the third period down by 2 goals. After 2 quick goals, it was all even and MSCCC had the momentum. Manville Pizza Palace would not go away. Mark Clarkin was a beast in the third and stopped Capt. Dan Dussault on at least 3 good chances. Dan would score in the first along with Steve Manning. Gary Ouilette would tap in the empty netter at the end of the game to make it official. 4-2 MSCCC

Late into the night as KAN JAM is being played outside in the pleasing weather, 401 Consultants and Roman Law battled until the bitter end. Roman Law has really stepped up their game and is just on the edge of getting over the top and putting themselves into contention. It would not be their night however, as 401 would just squeaked by with a 3 -2 win. Fittingly, the league leader in points, Shane McCormick, would pop in the game winner unassisted. Brian Roman would start the goal scoring against his name sake team. Rich Dias would add another goal to his resume. One last thing, The shirt worn by Craig Pizzo did not help them distract the competition. Although it was worn on a dare, I DARE HIM TO NEVER WEAR IT AGAIN! I double dog dare you Craig. 

You may get treated to the Ahab Report. A possibly more colorful version of events. But not more colorful than Craigs SHIRT!
