Saved the best for last
Last nights action was fast and furious but one sided for the first two games.
Votta Properties and Vescera Law had the early action. Votta was left in the lurch this week with no Bell. The first period action skated to a tie, 0-0. In the second Votta got an early goal from Shane McCormick, keeping up with the Joneses in the top of the stats. He was set up by Chad Labaste and Eric Rondeau. Rondeau would get his own 3 shifts later or one depending on how long the stay on the ice. Any who, Rondeau would be set up by Labaste. The next goal would belong to Kreg Labelle, set up nicely by the Captain himself, Rick Votta. Late in the second Vescera would finally crack the egg, with a moving screen and a goal by Greg Landry. Landry took the pass from Sean Forrant and Dan Clare. We know that Rondeau and Landry had an audience they wanted to impress. The station will be talking about Rondeau's Hat Trick though. Oh wait, haven't got there yet. 22 seconds into the third, Rondeau got one step closer to the sombrero. This time from Shane McCormick and Owen Foley. And the beat goes on for Votta, as Ricky Votta would get the next one from Jarred Martin and McCormick. McCormick would get the next one with Votta's help and then finally, as you predicted, Rondeau would complete the Hat Trick, Martin on the helper. Phew, Votta was in the drivers seat the whole game, winning 7-1.
in the second game, the woes continue for Quick Dam. This time facing Manville Palace Pizza. This is the third meeting for these teams, Manville has had the Q's number, winning all three games. This weeks game was eerily similar to last weeks for the Dam. Manville started the game quick, getting a goal just 25 seconds in from white gloves, Mark Kosinski, set up by Chris Bolton. In the same shift, Richie Dias took advantage and got a goal of his own with Kosinskis help. Just like that MPP was up by two. Later in the period they would stretch the lead. Mike Bragan hammered one home with help from Bolton and Kosinski. Quick Dam would stop the bleeding, for the rest of the first and all of the third, yet could not figure out Santiago. The first shift of the third, Quick Dam got on the board, Matt Connell would take the pass across the ice and get it to Neil Yee. Yee would break to the middle, shoot and Paul Bergeron would tip it home. The momentum shift was short lived as Manville would get on the board again, with Dias from Kosinki and Bolton. Manville cements their place at the top of the standings, winning 4-1.
Remember the title of this is saved the best for last. Here is the best. Edge Doctors looked like they would put a string of wins together. Early in the game, Anthony Lisi would get the lead for The Docs. In the second Peter Meegan would stretch the lead, from Derek Antunes and Lisi. The Edge had the edge throughout the second. Final Touch would finally get one back late in the second Steven Albertelli getting on the board from Steve Owens. Down by a goal late, Final Touch would tie it up with the goalie pulled at the 11:44 mark, tying the game was Albertelli from JW Preston. WIth just 5 seconds, the Touch would have the perfect touch and win the game as Albertelli completed the Hat Trick. wow, a stunning victory from the jaws of defeat. 3-2 What a crazy ending.
The warm weather is coming. Doesn't matter to some of us. Out there playing Kan Jam in the freezing cold. By the way, one of our newest Goalies, Shannon Murphy would have a kill, in her first foray as a Kan Jammer. I have a feeling she will be back to play. Peter Meegan would do it himself over the top. It would be the only way Richie and yours truly would lose.
Hope everyone has a great Easter, if you celebrate. And hope everyone has a great week.
