The Matty Chronicles: Happy New Beer!

January 2, 2017

The night started out with some New Year resolutions, MSCCC was resolute in their taking a 3-0 lead. Manny’s was resolute that they would never give up. MSCCC would get the night started with Brian Pendergast scoring for his birthday present to himself, he would also add an assist to lead the team to victory. Dan Claire would also score. Jim Gallagher, the leagues supreme leader, would provide the eventual game winner. Nick Miranda and Derek Signoriello would get the goals for Manny’s late. Jay Cinq-Mars hit post and cross bar late, but the puck just would not cooperate. MSCCC scrapes by 3-2
In the spotlight game, Manville Palace Pizza would go up against the yellow pinny donning Final Touch. It was a game for the ages, as the two teams blazed up and down the 146 pond. The neutral zone was of no consequence as the teams resided in each-others zones. Between the pipes, the walls came up, as both Mike Dussault and Dan Albertelli were brilliant. Larry Lefebvre would get some time at wing for the Pizza and he would prove to be effective scoring first. Frank Notrianni and Keith Kreunelis would score as well in this great battle for the leagues’ top spot. However, Tommy Gaboriault and Peter Meegan would score twice each, with Meegan getting the late game winner. Jimmy Meegan would get three assists for the Touch. Final Touch wins 4-3.
The Green Goddess were thwarted by the up and coming Vescera Law in Final Action. With the absence of 6 players Billy V had to step up and make some stuff happen. Apparently the “TenForty Kid” was on hand and scored 5 goals and an assist for the White. Green Goddess is having a tough time getting the magic back with their top line. However, Rich Dias would get a goal and assist. Captain Eric Robichaud would also get a goal and assist. On the Vescera side, it was a Rob Edleman with a goal and assist and Bill Figuerido 2 assists. Vescera Law wins 8-3
Next week has Roman Law back from hiatus and raring to go against Green Goddess. Manny’s can put themselves in contention against the upstart Vescera Law. Final Touch can open the door for the top spot of the league with Manville Palace Pizza sitting idle. The Touch will be facing the Red Hot MSCCC in late action.
The Holidays are over folks! It’s time to shed the extra fat on the ice.
Live, Breathe, Love………………………….Hockey!!!
