Finally The Winter Season Is DONE!

October 10, 2020

North Smithfield, RI October 9, in the year of our lord 2020.

Ladies and gentlemen, this has been a difficult year for all of us. The one constant in our world, is our friends. We are dedicated to one promise, that whatever happens, we will remain as such, through thick and thin. Although some of our friends, could not finish the season. We look forward to when you are ready and coming back to the rink.

24 games complete, a bit haphazardly however, we made it through. Remember that time when no goalie showed up and we had the blue think. Remember playing with 6 players a full hour and dying. Remember that, that was awesome.

Well last night, remember when Manville Pizza didn't need to win, but put in a great effort against Vescera Law. Vescera would pull it out 4-3 with Scott Reilly getting the game winner. Manville's Brian Beck did the damage on the other side with a couple of goals.
Manville PP gets the Presidents Trophy Nod for the Covid Cup. Edging out Manny's by a game, with 32 points. Great Job MPP. Great Season. Vescera Law put themselves in fifth place edging out Votta Properties. Next Friday they will Play Roman LAW. Law v. Law. at 10:40

In a wild second game, the question on every ones tongues was, Where is Clarkin? Ill get to that in a minute. Suffice it to say, Clarkin is ok. However, Junior had to stay for another game. His effort was Valiant and entertaining as The Green Goddess, charmed her way past the touch of Final Touch, if you will pardon the poetic parlance. Steven Albertelli would light the lamp for a Hatty to do the damage against Final Touch, with a lot of help from Larry Lafavbre and the new girl. SHES AN A ERIC!!!! Peter Meegan led the team with a couple and Kosinski and Richie Dias would have one each. Pretty good, but not enough. Looks like Final Touch will be playing Manny's house of ill repute on Friday at 8:20. While the Goddess has the 9:30 game against Votta Properties.

In the final game, yep same question, wasn't Clarkin supposed to play for Votta? So apparently, he is alive. He just fell asleep and that is that. Unfortunate, but true. It happens. Anyway, Scott, the new goalie played and all was well. However, Roman Law really took it to Votta. 10-5. Shane McShane Shane McCormick, did a lot of the damage with 5 goals. Mostly assisted by Eric Rondeau and Tim Sheehan. Both would also answer the bell and get a goal. Shawn Smith and Sean Coffee would round out the 10-5 score. Believe me or not, it was 4-0 going into the second. By the end of the second it was only 6-4 Roman. Quite the comeback for Votta. Webby and my Boo would get the goals for their team, Ricky Votta would assist as well. Give them credit for not giving up.

OK, So here we go. Championship weekend is on the horizon. Get your skates sharpened and your excuses ready.

See you at the rink next weekend. I hope for more than one game. You don't always get what you hope for, YOU GET WHAT YOU WORK FOR. Keep ya head up!

Until then, have a great week.
