Manville Palace Pizza Clinches Number 1 seed

March 25, 2018

The night began with Vescera Law facing off against Green Goddess. The Goddess built up a 6-3 lead going into the third and then put up 5 more in the third for good measure. The Goddess can only stay in third with a win next week.

In the second game of the night, Roman Law dashed the hopes and dreams of Manny's Hockey Shop from getting the Presidents trophy. The Law actually did something they rarely do and had a great start of the game. They put up 4 unanswered before Manny's could pop their cherry in this game. Don't let the scoreboard fool you, tremendous goaltending and hard work by both teams made this the best game of the night. Roman can only win next week and hope Goddess loses to have the higher seed. They also can only get as high as 3rd.

In the late game, Manville Palace Pizza wanted to get a statement in before their 2 week hiatus. They will be getting the first seed spot and Saturdays coveted first game on the 7th. Manville beat Final Touch pretty handily. Manville's tour de force being the one team with so much talent and all the voice, squeezed out the 7-2 victory.
Good luck to Manville in the playoffs. We are all rooting for you.

In other news, after the season is over, Chris Hammond will be leaving NRI AHL hockey, for a new endeavor on the left coast. He had this to say to the league:

"I want to thank everyone that I've played with or against in this amazing league. It's definitely bittersweet, moving across the country to start a new chapter of my life, but leaving behind such a great league and group of people. It's been almost 2 decades I've had the honor of skating with you all, and I feel so very blessed and fortunate to have gotten that chance. I want to thank everyone for the well-wishes I've gotten, and the opportunity I've gotten to play in the league. I'm truly blessed. Thinking of this league makes me think of a famous phrase that I think perfectly fits: "We lucky few, we band of brothers". I wish everyone the very best moving forward, and I thank you all so very much." Chris Hammond

Chris, we all wish you the best of luck in the future.

See you all next week for the final chapter of the winter season 2018.
