March 28th Games

March 31, 2014

401 Consulting is now only four points behind first place after knocking off Manny's, the top team in the leauge, 5-3.  The absolutely unstoppable line of Campbell, Beck and Beck were at it again, scoring four goals and six assists combined.  Derek Signoriello did all He could in an attempt to keep up with the highest scoring line in the league, but his two goals and an assist still left the league leaders on the short end of the stick.

Manville Pizza is now only two points behind first place after they held serve, whipping Vescera Law 5-1.  Frank Notorianni had two goals and two assist along with a hooking penalty and Mike Thomas chipped in with two goals and an asssist.  Kevin Tondreau scored for The Law.

With Three games left for the top Three Teams check out their remaining schedule:

Manny's : Pizza, MSCCC, Final Touch

Pizza: Manny's, Roman, MSCCC

401: Roman, Vescera, Roman

The Consultants have the easiest schedule but they need to gain the most, presently in third.  The Pizza, If They should win this weeks featured game at 10:40, They will seize control of first place by virtue of the head to head tie breaker, beating Manny's three of four times.  Manny's, with a win will be assured of no worse than a tie for first place.  I suspect the warm room will be over crowded for the battle of the Titans, Manny's Vs. Manville Pizza, Friday, April 4th, 2014 10:40PM, be there or be square.

MSCCC pounded Final Touch into submission only to have them rise up again, until finally they were put out of their misery in the 9-7 loss.  Captain Gary Myers, who scored two goals and three assists while quieting his harshest critics and ending a five game scoring drought, had a lot to say about the up coming playoffs, after the win.  "It's good to see some serious battles going on with respect to the final standings, and it makes for some real interesting games for everybody, or for six of the seven teams, anyway.  Those three teams battling for first place, well they can have it, cuz everyone knows first place is a jinx in this league.  As far as our team battling these other two excuses for teams for the fourth through sixth place, bring it on.  My Team is ready for the playoffs. We are a high powered lean mean fighting machine, and all I can say is prepare to qualify, cuz The Show is ready for the playoffs.  Oh, and one more thing, there is know better cure for a little mid season scoring draught than playing The Touch, thanks for another bye week."

This coming week of April 4th, is not only our first attempt at having a league wide cookout, but even more excitingly it will feature the game of the week at 10:40pm with first place Manny's taking on second place Manville Pizza, in what will go along way in determining who will be left fighting for The President's Cup.
