Pizza Delivers the Comeback of the Season!!!

July 29, 2016

The Matty Chronicles

The season is starting to wind down. As we get closer to the end, the playoffs are starting to take shape.

What a match the first turned out to be. Manville Pizza faced off against Vescera Law. Vescera Law welcomed back Mike the emperor Dussault between the pipes. Mike was brilliant in the first. Rob Edelman was brilliant as well scoring and passing. Edelman would score 2 and set up a nice goal passing in front to Dan Clare. The lead would be 5-1 going into the second. Jody Pachomski would score 4 goals in the comeback. In the end the hard fought game turned to Manville Pizza who came back to win 8-7.

Manville’s win puts them tied for second place in the standings.

In the second game, Final Touch continues their winning streak making it 9 in a row and clinching First Place overall. Final touch would come out to a 4-0 lead. Roman would not go away quietly. Mike Strayer single handedly would cut the lead in half and put Final Touch on their heels. Shawn Smith would make it 4-3. Brian Duboc would put the nail in it with the fifth goal. The air was out of the bouncy house for Roman Law. The return of Tommy Gaboreault would get 2 goals and assist along with Peter Meegan who would also get 2 goals and an assist. The defense for Final Touch kept them in it with Dan Albertelli out of the net and out on the ice playing D.

In the final game of the night, with a rare 2 week hiatus, 401 Consultants would come out strong against the sizzling hot Manny’s Hockey Shop. Shane McCormick would continue his point domination with a Hatty and 2 assists. Rich Dias would also get five points with 2 goals and 3 assists. Manny’s just couldn’t put it together and Jay Pires was awesome in the crease for the blue.

Memo from the league: With the season winding down, all debts must be settled to be eligible for the playoffs. Don’t hurt your team with your absence.
Also, as you know: the last week of the season and the playoffs will all be held in Pawtucket’s Blackstone Valley Sports Center (Lynch Arena).

And as Always: LIVE, BREATHE, LOVE………HOCKEY!!!!!!!
