Ramping up to the Playoffs

March 22, 2019

North Smithfield, RI.

Wow what a start of this weeks showcase. Manville Palace Pizza came out flying, perhaps it was Dan Dussaults lack of beard? Vescera Law did start the scoring with Nate Arruda skating into a pass by yours truly to bury the puck. Just 17 seconds later Manville cut the euphoria with a goal by Mark Kosinski from Gary Ouillette. and the tables were turned. With 58 seconds left in the 1st, white gloves, the kos man, did it again, putting Manville on top. This time Jared Martin supplled the pass across from the corner. In the second, Rob Edleman. But wait, Dan the Man Clare would get the feed from Scott Hawes and buries it from the right circle. FrenchHawes reivew, "mmm thats nice and what a finish". Vescera would start the final period with a goal by Nate Arruda this time from Jay Arruda. Nate Arruda would strike again and the Law was ahead for the first time since the beginning of the game. Just when you think the game was getting boring, a penalty shot was rewarded to Rob Edlemen. This was the difference in the game. Dave MacDonald would stone Rob. Then off the faceoff The Pizza would deliver, bringing the puck down the other end. Gary Oiulette would release a shot that would ping pong off of Mark Kosinski and drop in to tie the game once again. Then with less than 2 minutes to go, Steve Manning would win the faceoff. Hawes would pop it over to the point held by Nate Patterson, who unleashed the rage and with a seeing eye puck, he put the pizza up for good. 5-4 Manville shocks Vescera.
Final Touch and Green Goddess would strap it on and go pucks deep. I don't know who started the scoring, but whoever number six was, started it off the first shift with the help of Jay Cinq-Mars and Kevin Webster. Things looking good for the Touch as Webster would take it down the right side and pop in a beauty of a back hander. This would end the first. In the second Final Touch would continue its domination with Ricky V scoring off the sub list from Richie Diaz and Rick Mercury, sounds like a "Dick" convention. Just 24 seconds later Jay Cinq-Mars would put the puck into net with the help of Webster. With less than 4 minutes left in the second, the Captain started a scoring spree for the Goddess. Eric Robichaud would get the Green on the board with Shane McCormicks rebound. In the third it would be all Goddess as Brian Pendergast would bury the puck after getting a pass around, started by Robichaud. Again, just seconds later Shane McCormick would get the score closer after being down 4-0. He would take the feed from Craig Pizzo. The fight would continue for the remainder of the period but would end with Final Touch on top. 4-3.
The final game of the night was Votta Properties and Roman Law. With very little to worry about and only a game left, Votta Properties was tooling up for the Playoffs would start out swinging. Rick Vasconcelos would start the scoring for the purple. Then Paul Bergeron would get the next one and things were looking good for Votta. But in swoops Eric Campbell for Roman Law to cut the lead in half. Votta would not be stopped. Ralph, My Boo, your boo, all boo, would score for Votta again from Ricky Vottas feed. Later in the second, Mike Strayer would keep it going. In the third Andy Morrison would finish Roman off with a 5-1 win.
The playoffs are looming over our heads. One week of regular season left. Vescera is on the bye. Not a lot could change next week. Manville and Final Touch could flip flop placement. Votta and Roman could flip flop.
Lets see, if the season ended now, Votta would play Green Goddess, Roman would play Final Touch and Manville would go against Vescera Law. Any Predictions? Mannys plays Saturday.

Hope everyone has a great week.
