March 14th Games

March 19, 2014

Manny's shuts out Roman Law 2-0, keeping a strong hold on Thieir quest for The President's Cup, and most importantly the first round bye.  Manny's Captain, Derek Signoriello, could not be happier with His Team's position.  "What's not to be happy about?  We're in first place,  We continue to get results, and our defense and goaltending has been astounding."  That's an understatement.  Allowing only forty three goals in twenty two games for a less than two goals against average per game, They are on pace to shatter The League Record for least goals against in a season.  Dan Albetelli is without a doubt having an MVP season for Manny's,.

Manville Pizza pounded Final Touch 6-2, keeping Their President's Trophy aspirations alive.  The Pizza trails Manny's by five points with five games left on Their schedule, while Manny's only has four games left.  Manville Pizza's Captain, Dan Dussault, wants His Team to keep working.  "At this point in the season it comes down to who wants it more, and whoever works harder wants it more.  Our philsophy is to never stop working."  In Vegas, some Books have The Pizza even money with Manny's to win it all, and it's not difficult to see why.  Second only to Manny's, they have allowed only 76 goals, while scoring 108, one behind the league leader.  The Pizza is a well balanced team with solid goaltending, and They will pose a challenge for any team who has to face Them in the playoffs.

Vescera Law B slapped Mineral Spring Car Care Center 7-1, continuing their rise up the standings ladder. The Law is now 4-1-3 in Their last eight games, and They consider themselves the team getting hot at the right time of the year. Vescera Law's Captain, Bill Vescera, says He feels good about This Team. "We are getting it going now after a rough start to the season. Sometimes You just get a sense, and I get a sense with This Team. It's something I've seen with other teams that have gone on to do good things. We're just clicking." No one has Vescera Law as the favorite to win it all, after all they are still under .500. Yet, still, a hot team with a hot goalie, it wouldn't be the first time.
