And it begins. Welcome new comers and summer specialists

April 5, 2025

We have quite a few new players this season. The league would like to welcome you! Thank you for playing. Our family of hockey players are the finest in the world. You will soon find out what a great bunch these folks are.

Let's get into the games. Unfortunately, I don't have all the numbers yet. So, this will be short.

I can tell you this, Edge Doctor started the game quick with a goal by the Captain Adam Babikian. He was the recipient of a rebound from Kole Sisson. Kole is a new guy in the league. The lead would be short lived as Andy Morrison, subbing in for Quick Dam tied the game, with My BOO, Ralph Espilat would set him up. Ralph has taken on the Quick Dam reins. Thanks Ralph. At the end of the first, Kevin Webster is back in the saddle of Friday nights and made his presence known with a goal, set up by Nick Miranda and another new player Kaylee O'Conner. In the second, Andy would get another goal and tie up the game. 20 seconds later, Sisson would get one and regain the lead for the Edge. And then came the third, which was all Quick Dam. Not sure who scored, just know Nick Nardone got the last one. All set 5-3. Quick Dam wins.

Game 2. Votta vs. Vescera. Lots of V's. Votta got on the board first. Literally, Ricky Votta started the scoring. Late in the period Vescera got the tie, set up by Bill Vescera. In the second, midway through, the Purple got the lead again. Late in the period, Vescera would tie it up. I am going to say it was Shane. In the third. Vescera would take the lead 3-2. And another one, soon after to stretch the lead 4-2. Votta would get one back, making it 4-3. And that is where it ended. 4-3 win for Vescera.

Game 3. Final Touch, Welcome back Shannon Caverly! vs. Green Goddess, The new captain, Scott Reilly taking on that task. Thank you Scott. In the first Goddess got on the board. The second period was where the scoring flurry came. That sounds dirty. Did the flurry come? Or just breathing heavy? I digress. Final Touch would get one early to tie it up. Minutes later Goddess would get the go ahead. Late in the second Final Touch would score twice and seal the game right there. 3-2 win for Final Touch.

I also want to say the Refs we patched together last night were terrific. Larry Lefebvre and Pete Meegan, sharing the duties. And we welcomed Brady McCloud to the Friday night experience. Did a great job young man.

Tonight Wicked Rhode had to cancel due to sickness. Sorry folks. Loose Screws is playing tonight in Fairhaven at the Bayside Lounge at 9. So much talent in the hockey league.

In any case, the Shit Shooters and All Pucked Up are headed to Clearwater, FL next week. Lots of Friday night players will be out next week. If you are available and reading this article. Reach out as a sub. LOL.

Have a great week everyone.
