And then there were 4. Happy Playoffs
Good Morning Campers. Here we are going into the best time of the Winter Season. We are on the threshold of a new season for the summer. Yet, we have to end this one first. Who will be in the finals?
Last night 3 teams got to the next level, with Final Touch already there.
In the first game, Votta Properties claimed their spot with a 3-1 win over Manville Pizza. This was a heck of a game. No score after one. in the second Manville got the goal to take the brief lead. Mark Kosinski, doing what he does best to break the egg. In would be midway through the period when Votta tied it up. Steve Donavan getting on the board. That tie would bleed all the way down to the F150 final five. Steve Albertelli would break the tie for Votta Properties and the hearts of the Pizza fans. An empty netter at the final minute would put this one away. Sean Coffey from three lines away. Votta goes onto play the winner of the next game. Lets talk about that...
Onward and upward for Quick Dam. Spoiler. Green Goddess did their best, but were bested by the Dam. In the first Quick Dam started the game on time. Mike Thomas from Ed Cardoso at just beyond the one minute mark. 4 minutes later, Thomas would repeat, this time from Nasty Labaste. Late in the period Goddess would get on the board to cut the lead in half. Ben Mello from Nick Nardone. In the second, Quick Dam made it 3-1. Shawn Smith flexing his muscles. In the third, rinse and repeat, Ben Mello from Nick Nardone to make it tight. Quick Dam would score at the 9.5 minute mark and skate this one out 4-2. Quick Dam and Votta Properties in Day 2 of the playoffs.
And now for something completely different. Edge Doctor and Vescera Law going for the final spot of day 2. Edge Doctor would score a couple of late goals in the first. Captain Hustle, Adam Babikian grabbing the inside Edge of the goal with pure heart and speed. Beauty pass by Kreg Labelle. Mike Strayer would get one 9 seconds later. Way to finish the period. Bill Babikian on the helper. Happy Birthday Bill! No score in the second. The battle lines were drawn. In the third, 2 goals in the 3 minute mark, again with 9 seconds difference. One by Kreg Labelle and the other by Evan Hugeunin. Welcome Evan. Doc Manzo would put Vescera on the board. This was a bit too little too late. As Kreg Labelle would put the final stamp on the game. 5-1 Edge. And they go on to play Final Touch in tomorrows contest.
Good luck to all the players! See you at the rink.
