Fireworks and Duds, but it all is in good fun.
Hi everyone. I hope we have some good plans for this weekend and our country's celebration of Independence from the British in 1776. Imagine those who fought for this freedom and liberty we have. No other country in the world is as free. It is unfortunate that some cannot appreciate this fact. Please remember those who provided those freedoms for us and celebrate with the same vigor.
Talk about Fireworks though. In the first game, Edge Doctor would supply all of the excitement. A hatty +1 for Kreg Labelle. A hat trick for Ben Hevner filling in for white gloves, A goal and 2 for Steve Owens, A goal and 2 for Brian McDonald and Steve Donovan with 2 goals. If you are counting that is 13 goals. On the other side, Mike Dussault shut down his brothers team. Manville Pizza managed 3 goals in the drubbing. Ryan Degan had a couple to advance his lead over Shannon Reilly in points for the season. Yes young lady we are routing for you, but he has a lead on you. Peter Meegan with the other.
In game two, Green Goddess and Votta Properties went at it. Both Teams vying for the top of the standings, put together an awesome game. After one it was tied 1-1. Andy Morrison on the first goal for Green Goddess. Steve Lombardi contributing for Votta. At the end of the second, Lombardi would get another. In the third, Scott Reilly would tie the game at 2, after the puck drop. Steve Lombardi would get the game winner and the Hattrick. Ray Iannuccillo would get one. Big Handsome would get the dagger at the end. Ricky Votta, if you don't know. 5-2 Votta Properties
Here is the last part of the article. And it will be short. I mean Short. Like one goal short. Final Touch's Mike Thomas scored. He got a pass from Aimee Accinno and Jimmy Meegan. According to the sheet. Just kidding Aimee, we know it was a great pass. RME. In any event, that was it. Mike Baro and Mark Schaivone were outstanding in net. Defenses on both sides were also outstanding. It was a playoff type atmoshere. In the end Final Touch 1-0 over Quick Dam.
Imagine this night in the pitch darkness. An excerpt from Henry Wadsworth Longfellows, Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.
So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,--
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo for evermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. "Paul Revere's Ride."
Have a happy and safe Independence day. When lighting those fireworks, make sure you don't light up yourselves. Eat, Drink and remember your friends. Love this time of year.
Live, Breathe, Love............................................HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!
