Here's the thing, it ain't a game, til Matt writes it up.
So, two weeks ago, y'all played. Why am I southern all of a sudden. Y'all. Bless your hearts. Any who, I guess it was fun. You know. whatever. Some won some lost some tied. I guess. But last night was a magical night of 2 ties and a one goal differential. That's some even hockey.
So, let's talk about last night. Final Touch playing Green Goddess. The real news is at the end of the game when it was 5-4 Final Touch and Goddess got a late goal to tie it up. Scott Webber on the goal. Final Touch had 2 unanswered to take the 3rd period lead after being down 3-2 going into the final period. Goddess stared the game scoring with Garret Reilly putting the puck in the net. Domenic Savostano, the league leader in points, getting the first one for Final Touch. Early in second Webber took the lead for Goddess, along with Reilly pulling it ahead further, back to back. I think the first one, the net was off. Final Touch made it 3-2, midway through. So, I did this part of the article like Pulp Fiction. Mutha Fucka. Yeah, ended in a tie. 5-5.
Next up. Edge Doctor vs. Quick Dam. Right out of the gate, one of the nicest tic tac toe plays of the year. Mark Kosinski came around the circle passed the puck in front of the net, Johnathan Murphy magically redirected the puck in the net. I was defending, I saw the whole thing. Even lifted Murphy's stick, to no avail. Second goal for Quick Dam, a screen shot and a Flamingo leg lift scored from the point. Dont even know who number 6 is, but Murphy sent it out to him. And guess what, in the second, early on, Murphy scored again. And then, 20 seconds at the end of second, Adam Babikian and Evan Huguenin got a couple, all from Kole Sisson. In the third, midway, Kevin Webster tied it up. That is where it ended 3-3.
And the late game. Ricky Votta is on the shelf still. And Hevner is got his number on his jersey? In Any case, Vescera got on the board for 2 goals in the first Shane McCormick from Richie Dias. The next was Ed Cardoso, who's daughter was in net, scored from Larry Lefebvre. Then Shane set up Ryan Degnan for the next one. Just like that it was 3-0. But wait there is more. Rev up the Ben Hevner and Rob Edleman train. A couple by Hevner. Then the 3rd unanswered to tie it up by Kevin Bartels. The puck had eyes the say, I say, that puck whistled by everyone because it was perfect. Vescera got another one by Jay Arruda, from Cardoso. That put them in the lead again. And an early goal by Kevin Brown got them to stretch the lead by two. Votta put their best effort in and got another one, set up by Chris Palmieri. But that was it. 5-4 Vescera Law. Oh that rhymes huh. Anyway, great game.
Hope everyone has a great memorial day. Let's remember, those who have fallen that give us the freedom that we have today. The soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice. God Bless them and their families. And God Bless America.
