The Day After Filling Our Grocery Holes
Game one of the holiday weekend was all 401 Consulting in the first period. Getting on the board first at the 45 second mark. Just 4 minutes later Mark Ferriera and Brandon Bell would set up the second goal. The second was a back and fourth affairs with the goalies holing their own. It would be Gary Ouillette Leading his team on the comeback, just 41 seconds into the 3rd. The tying goal would come from Jay Cinq-Mars in middle of the third. With the game tied up, the next shift of Scott Hawes and Mike Strayer would set up Anthony Lisi for the game winner just 50 seconds after the tie up.
In the second game it was the battle of the top spot. Roman Law and Manville Pizza would take the ice and battle through the first period in a nothing, nothing, tie. It would end up taking 16 minutes to break the egg. Roman Law would draw first blood. Jay Arruda would score unassisted. Just 2 minutes later Manville would knot it up again, the goal set up by Earl Ledoux. Early in the third, Shawn Smith and Capt. Ahab would set up the tie breaking goal. Later in the period tempers flared. It is not uncommon for these elite teams to get under each others skins. After the penalties were handed down, it was back to the game. In the end, Dan Albertelli would come up big on a "nice try" goal attempt in front of the net. Albertelli sprawled out and kept his undefeated season alive. Dick Savaria would put the final stamp on the game
The final game was a barn burner. Vescera Law in front of Mike Baro played fast and overcame the Hockey shop, leading the way was Chris Hammond would lead the scoring for his team. On the other side, Manny's would spread the goals around. Jarred Martin would start the scoring set up by Steve Sullivan and Shannon Caverly. Shannon incidentally, leads Manny's in points. Derek Antunes would step up and help out on 2 goals one from behind the net to a wide open Matt Connell. In the second Derek Signoriello (suddenly off the market, congrats and good luck to you and Caroline) would score unassisted on hard work. Joe Martin would cap the scoring from Antunes, with a nice tuck in goal.
It would be easier to write about Vescera's goals if we knew the numbers. Please Get your roster in to Peter Meegan.
