The days are getting closer to the prize.
Sacrotes said “No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”
And then there is us.
I am not sure why I decided to quote Sacrotes. That said, I looked it up and found that gem. There are more. Do yourself a favor and read some ancient philosophy.
In any event. Edge Doctor went up against Votta Properties. Edge Doctor spotted Richie Dias 2 and Steve Albertelli 1. Sean Coffey on the set ups. Sean just quietly killing it for his team. In the second, Edge Doctor got in the game. Old school, traffic around the net, rebound collection and Mike Strayer with the bury. Shannon Caverly and Derek Antunes on the apples. Next goal off the defensive zone face off and short handed, Adam Babikian won the face off forward to Kreg Labelle. Labelle streaked to the net and finished. First shift in the third Adam Babikian got one of his own with Dylan Rappitor on the stretch pass. The tie would not last as a bang bang play and Steve Donavan burying the puck for Votta. Edge DR. would tie it up again, with another by Strayer, helped by Aaron Crossett and Antunes. The back breaker came with under a minute when Votta would take the lead once again, with Ricky Votta setting up the tie breaker. Unfortunately, I dont remember who scored it. I think it was Albertelli. No matter, Votta wins in a battle 5-4.
Game 2, one of the best games to play. Don't have to rush to the rink or rush out of the locker room. Or show up apparently. Vescera Law versus Manville Pizza. The first period was a stalemate. No goals for either side. And then the second. Vescera Law owned the second with four goals. Larry Lefebvre started the fire, with Greg Landry on the assist. 2 shifts later, Rob Edleman got the puck on the back twine from Sammy Woodward. Same shift, Edleman with another from Sammy and Larry. Then another from Larry to close out the 4 minute scoring flurry. I was going to say milieu. But eh. not really fitting. But yeah, VL hammered away, MPP could not recover. Early in the third, Vescera would get another by Edleman and Larry on the assist. And that was the game. 5-0 Vescera Law.
The final game was Quick Dam and Green Goddess. This must have been a fun game to watch. Came out in a tie. Quick Dam came out in the second with an early goal. Mike Thomas from Ed Cardoso. Ed is a mainstay of the score sheets all season. Late in the period, Goddess would tie it up with a goal by Ben Mello. Lot of police officers in this league. that is the third one to get on the scoresheet. Early in the third, Shawn Smith, leader on the team and the ice put the puck in the net with help from Marc O'Connor. Irish Mafia right there. Midway through Goddess would tie it up once again. Shannon Reilly on what appears to be a breakaway. And that is all she wrote. or he wrote, cause it is me. Hi. Anyway, 2-2 your final.
Another week in the books. Also, please note, the Playoffs have been pushed back a week by the rink. It is now March 28, 29 and 30th.
I will leave you with more philosophy: "Be slow to fall into friendship, but when you are in, continue firm and constant." Sacrotes.
I hope everyone has a great week. Enjoy your time. It is precious.
