Christmas came early for some teams

December 15, 2017

In the early game, Green Goddess was dealing. 3 goals in the first Joe Martin was the set up man for 2. Andy Morrison got his league leading numbers up again with an assist on Eric Campbells goal, along with Ralph Espillat and Neil Foley. Foley has been a beast for the Goddess this season. Yep, Green Goddess had the edge as much as 5-1. Apparently, Votta Properties never looked at the score board. They just kept playing. Anthony Lisi would be the catalyst, scoring 2 and 2 with Nate Arruda getting 1 and 1. At the end of the game, with just over a minute to go, Votta was all but cooked. 3 goals later, they tied it up. Did the Defense start celebrating to early for the green? This one goes in the books as the craziest tie in league history.

The second game pitted law versus law. That's Roman versus Vescera. Roman Laaw came out strong getting 3 in the first. Started out with Ray Iannucillo getting the first of a trio of goals for him. Hatty baby Hatty. His first came from the D to D passing and shooting of Marc Dionne and Brian Roman. Next Greg Landry would pop a sweet one in that was tabled by a bad angle shot from Kenny Beck. Sub Glen Marshall would cut Romans lead in half with a late goal set up by Rob Edleman and Ricky Votta. Captain Shawn Smith would get it right back with 15 seconds left. In the second, Ken Beck would stretch the lead from Smith and Landry. That would be all the scoring in the second. In the third, Iannucillo would make it 5-1 at the outset of the third. Somehow while the red were not looking, Vescera had the secret Votta weapon with Edleman and Bill Vescera himself, back from injury, getting the assists. Votta would not be done and would get another in the middle of the period. Ray would strike again for the Red to stretch the lead 6-3. Votta and Vescera were not done, he would get a hat trick. but 6-4 is how this would end. Roman puts themselves in the mix for the top spot of the league.

Final Touch would start off strong getting the lead 3-2 with Rich Dias, Mark Ferreira and Jim Galvin all scoring for the touch. At the same time Manny's would grab 2 to keep the fight. Mike Stayer with another strong game getting the first of the sombrero. In the Second Stayer would tie the score with help from Mike Thomas. Stephen Albertelli would be set up nicely by Bobby Jordan. Jim Galvin would keep pace and tie it up late in the period. Thomas would grab the lead back with a goal of his own set up by Strayer. In the third Stayer would stretch the lead to 6-4. Mark Ferreira would not give up the ghost and got another set up by Galvin. It would not be enough, as Albertelli would get the empty netter to put the final nail in the coffin. Manny's wins 7-5. Great game.

Hope everyone gets their shopping done this week. See you all next Friday.
