Then there were 2 and not who you thought.

July 20, 2025

Good Morning: This is the time of year we have all been waiting for, playoffs baby.

In game 1 of the night the number one seed Final Touch versus the Winter Champs Edge Doctor. In the first Final Touch showed why they were they were in first the whole season. Getting 2 goals one very early. Andy Laird put a whirly bird in on a bad angle from the bottom of the circles to start the fire, getting it from Kreg Labelle. Late in the period, Domenic Savastano broke away by splitting the defense from the far blue line in. In the second, Enter Edge Doctor. Specifically, Kevin Webster. Webster got 2 goals to even the score. Late in the second, Savastano got another break away for the lead once again. Kole Sisson took Edge Doctor on his back and tied it up again. In the third, Edge Doctor had a shift. That was the difference. 3 Goals in 3 minutes. Kole Sisson with 2 to complete the Hat Trick and a goal by Captain my Captain, Adam Babikian. Late in the game Final Touch would get another by Scott Costa, but it would not be enough. Babikian would put the nail in the coffin on an empty netter. 7-4 Edge Doctor with the upset.

Game 2 of the night. I am going to make this short and sweet. It was 7-1 going into the third in this one. Quick Dam has the horses. It started with a goal by Vescera Law and Shane McShane McCormick late in the period. And then it was all Quick Dam. Mark Kosinski got 2 to end the first and another early in the second for the Hat. Jonathan Murphy piled on with one. Then Jay Lombardi, Jamie Murphy and my good friend Nick Nardone to complete the scoring. 2 goals in the third by Vescera Law wearing number 10 Rodney Millet. Welp, that is all folks. 7-3 Quick Dam.

Edge Doctor goes against Quick Dam for the finals. The money line is on Quick Dam. Jinx Jinx Jinx.

And now some ghost writing:

Vescera Law came out swinging, with the league’s most improved defensive player getting on the board early off a razor-sharp pass from Rodney Millet, capitalizing on a lackadaisical Quick Dam defensive lapse. Early momentum favored Vescera.

 Then the collapse.

Enter Quick Dam’s trinity: Mark Kosinksi a.k.a. “White Gloves,” John Murphy, and Nick Nardone proved too much to contain. Throw in Greg Landry running his mouth before puck drop like it was his job, and the momentum swung hard.

Despite a few quick goals from Rodney Millet in the third and the usual grit from the “Comeback Kids,” Vescera Law couldn’t recover. It was less of a hockey game and more of a sponsored demolition. Quick Dam brought sledgehammers, and Vescera brought juice boxes.

Vescera Law will chew on this one all offseason. Let it rot in their teeth. Let it ferment, but don’t get comfortable. This story for this squad isn’t over.

As the team’s longtime owner and captain nurses a shredded shoulder from a brutal collision with none other than the league’s most improved defensive player, Vescera Law gears up for a winter return under new (temporary) management.

Forget “Comeback Kids”; they’re returning like a bad habit: no apologies, no peace talks, just problems.

They’ll see you in the winter. Bring a helmet and maybe a therapist.

In all seriousness, Vescera Law raises its sticks to Quick Dam for a decisive victory and wishes everyone an enjoyable offseason. See you on the ice.

We Will See you next week. BUY the whole seat, but you will only need the edge.
